Wow! The Lakers are already scouting Wiggins! A perfect match for the championship forward.

Wiggins + Doncic + James... isn't this trio overflowing with talent incredibly wonderful and worth looking forward to?

And now, there is a chance to make it happen; the bench is ready to watch closely.

Originally, the Heat wanted to use Wiggins as a bargaining chip to trade for Durant from the Suns, but unfortunately, the negotiations failed, and Durant took his talent to the Rockets.

However, even without acquiring Durant, Wiggins still has to stay on the shelf, as the Heat are determined to trade him away.

According to reports, the interested Lakers are potential suitors and have even scouted Wiggins, inquiring with the Heat about the trade price.

In the last regular season, Wiggins played 17 games for the Heat, averaging 32.1 minutes per game, contributing 19 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1 block with comprehensive stats, shooting 45.8%. However, his performance dropped sharply in the playoffs, averaging only 11.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.3 blocks, with a shooting percentage as low as 37.2%.

Some may question why the Lakers, already featuring top wings like James and Doncic, would still be interested in Wiggins, especially with tough players like Finney-Smith and Vanderbilt on the bench.

Redick loves using wing players to charge forward. For example, in the first round of the playoffs this year, the Lakers faced the Timberwolves in Game 5 and even fielded a starting lineup of Doncic, James, Reaves, Hachimura, and Finney-Smith. Thus, if Wiggins joins the Lakers, he wouldn't have trouble finding a position, such as replacing Finney-Smith.

Moreover, with Wiggins' laid-back personality, taking on the role of a super sixth man wouldn't be a problem. In the 2023-24 season, he played 71 games for the Warriors, including 12 as a substitute. Overall, he belongs to the type that is obedient and easy to work with.

Wiggins' current contract won't expire until the summer of 2027, with annual salaries of $28.22 million and $30.17 million over the next two seasons. While he may be seen as a liability on a weak team, he is an excellent piece for a championship contender, as evidenced by the 2022 championship.
