Team notes refute rumors! The Grizzlies have no interest in bringing in Durant at the moment, and their top priority is to re-sign Jackson

On June 19, Beijing time, Sidery revealed on social media that the Grizzlies have re-emerged as a potential suitor for Suns star Durant. The team chased the 36-year-old forward before the trade deadline in February. However, Grizzlies well-known team reporter Cole gave a different story. Citing league sources, he said that while the Grizzlies did consider an offer for Durant in the middle of the season, they have no interest in the 15-time All-Star at the moment and don't plan to chase it in the offseason.

Fischer posted a similar report a few days ago, noting that the Grizzlies are not expected to join the Durant race, even though they just acquired a batch of draft picks from the Bane trade. Fischer mentioned that the Grizzlies were reluctant to pursue Butler before the trade deadline because they were worried that Butler would not renew his contract, and now the attitude towards Durant is likely to be the same.

Fischer also said that while the Grizzlies have no intention of chasing Durant, other teams are watching closely to see how general manager Kleiman will use the first-round pick he received in the Bane trade to make reinforcements. For the Grizzlies, completing early contract extension talks with Jaren Jackson Jr. remains a "top priority."

Scotto also confirmed that a contract extension with Jackson is crucial for the Grizzlies. League sources revealed to Scottto that forward John Konchar ($12.33 million in the next two years) could be the target of a deal for the team's salary clearance.

The Grizzlies' draft pick in the Bane trade includes the No. 16 pick in next week's draft. If the Grizzlies keep the pick, Cole has listed five "defensive wings" they could target, including Noah Essengou, Cedric Coward and Nick Clifford.
