American player Cooks may become a naturalized athlete, and she looks forward to donning the jersey of the Chinese Taipei women's basketball team.

Last season, American player Cooks, who played for the Cathay Life women's basketball team in the WSBL, has the opportunity to become a naturalized player for the Chinese Taipei women's basketball team. Joining the roster for the Jones Cup Chinese Taipei team, she expressed that returning to Taiwan to play feels like coming home, and she eagerly anticipates wearing the Chinese Taipei women's basketball jersey.

Cooks is a candidate for the naturalized foreign player position for the Chinese Taipei women's basketball team.

Cooks became the first foreign player in the history of the Cathay Life women's basketball team last year and was also the first foreign player to compete in the WSBL after the league opened up to foreign players. Recently, she was listed as one of the candidates for naturalization by the Chinese Taipei Basketball Association. In an interview on the 25th, she mentioned that head coach Olsen contacted her through her teammate Chen Yujie from the WCBA Jiangxi team to ask if she was interested in becoming a naturalized player for the Chinese Taipei team. Although she was about to play in the Mexican league at that time and was uncertain about her future schedule, she said, "I think it would be great if I have the opportunity to come back to Taiwan to play."

When asked why she likes Taiwan, Cooks smiled brightly and said, "Of course, it’s the players here. There are only four teams in the WSBL, and we compete every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, which gives us a chance to meet many players. After I started playing in China, I also met some Taiwanese players. Playing in Taiwan is very comfortable; they help me overcome the language barrier. It feels like a big family here."

Regarding her potential candidacy for naturalization with the Chinese Taipei women's basketball team, Cooks said, "I am very excited about the possibility of representing the Chinese Taipei women's basketball team. Playing in Taiwan feels like home. I know that this (naturalization) is very important and not just about me, but I am selfless and hope to have the opportunity to represent Chinese Taipei."

On the 25th, Cooks appeared at the training camp looking significantly leaner compared to her time with Cathay Life last season, revealing that she lost 50 pounds (about 22 kilograms) through dietary control. Regarding the assistance she can provide to the Chinese Taipei women's basketball team, she stated that she is a completely different player compared to last season. "I have improved a lot defensively, and I hope to help the team secure every single ball. I also have great scoring ability and will work hard to deliver a decisive hit in critical moments."
