The Los Angeles Dodgers in Major League Baseball (MLB) saw their Japanese superstar Shohei Ohtani hit a two-run homer on the 25th, marking his 27th of the season and helping the team secure an 8-3 lead.
Ohtani's home run
came after he had a flyout to center field, a flyout to left field, and a strikeout in his first three at-bats. In the sixth inning against Rockies lefty Ryan Rolison, he connected with a 92.7 mph (approximately 149.1 km/h) four-seam fastball, sending a two-run shot to left field. The exit velocity of this homer was 101.6 mph (approximately 163.5 km/h), with a distance of 373 feet (approximately 113.6 meters) and an angle of 27 degrees.
Shohei Ohtani
has now hit home runs in consecutive games, bringing his season total to 27, which still leads the National League and ranks third in the entire league. Additionally, this marks Ohtani's 300th career home run (48 in Japan and 252 in the MLB), making him the third player in Japanese history to achieve this feat, following legends Hideki Matsui (332 in Japan and 175 in the MLB) and Kosuke Fukudome (285 in Japan and 42 in the MLB).
