The UK Supreme Court recently ruled that the definition of a woman is solely based on biological sex, stating that transgender women should not be legally recognized as women. After this decision, JK Rowling, who has often criticized this matter, celebrated by posting a photo on social media platform X, where she is seen raising a glass and smoking a cigar on a yacht.

The UK Supreme Court ruled, according to the Equality Act, that "the definition of a woman refers solely to biological females and does not include transgender women; the definition is based on biological sex." However, the court also added that this ruling does not remove legal protections for transgender individuals, stating, "They will be protected and will not face discrimination due to a redefinition of gender."
JK Rowling publicly celebrated by sharing a photo of herself with a cigar and a drink.
In response, JK Rowling retweeted related posts on X and made several celebratory posts, including thanking the three Scottish women who brought the lawsuit as "extraordinary and resilient." She expressed strong approval of the court's ruling and shared a photo of herself with a cigar and a champagne glass, writing, "I love seeing plans come to fruition."
Kelly Eve filmed promotional videos portraying a female image.
In fact, JK Rowling has long criticized the transgender movement, arguing that transgender individuals infringe upon women's spaces and rights. Previously, during the Paris Olympics, she questioned the gender controversies surrounding Lin Yu-ting, who won the women's boxing gold medal, and Algerian athlete Kelly Eve, drawing international attention. JK Rowling has repeatedly insinuated that Lin Yu-ting and Kelly Eve are transgender athletes. After the Paris Olympics, Kelly Eve also filmed a video promoting her feminine image, emphasizing her identity as a woman. Rowling sarcastically remarked, "Putting on heavy makeup for public relations takes more time and effort than simply revealing DNA test results."
