Malaysia's men's doubles badminton star Wang Yaoxin and Japanese women's singles beauty Ayaka Takahashi have completed their registration and are now officially married. On June 20, the National Registration Department (JPN) of Malacca confirmed via social media that Wang Yaoxin and Ayaka Takahashi registered at the department's office on Thursday (June 19), wishing "this couple's love across cultures lasts forever."

The JPN of Malacca stated, "Today (Thursday), the marriage registration department of the National Registration Department of Malacca is honored to hold a wedding for Malaysia's top badminton player Wang Yaoxin and his partner, Japanese badminton player Ayaka Takahashi."

Under the officiation of an official from the JPN of Malacca, and in the presence of both families and representatives, Wang Yaoxin and Ayaka Takahashi recited their wedding vows, officially becoming husband and wife. Wang Yaoxin, who hails from Malacca, successfully proposed to Ayaka Takahashi on March 27 of this year, leading to the fruition of their cross-cultural romance in the badminton world.
Ayaka Takahashi appeared in the mixed interview area of the 2025 Sudirman Cup, interviewing Japanese players during the quarterfinals against Taiwan.
The 29-year-old Ayaka Takahashi won the bronze medal in women's singles badminton at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, and in 2024, she claimed her first Super Series title at the Thailand Masters, followed by another victory at the Super 500 Australian Open in mid-June of that year.
