Taiwanese player Hsieh Su-wei and Chinese veteran Zhang Shuai stormed past their opponents to reach the semifinals of the 2025 Nottingham grass court women's tournament.

On the 20th local time, the duo of Hsieh Su-wei from Taipei and Zhang Shuai from China defeated Japan's Eri Hozumi and Indonesia's Aldila Sutjiadi in just 69 minutes, winning in straight sets to advance to the women's doubles semifinals.

Hsieh Su-wei formed a temporary partnership with Zhang Shuai in March of this year.

In March, Hsieh Su-wei teamed up with Zhang Shuai, reaching the women's doubles semifinals at the WTA 1000 event in Indian Wells. Now, the pair has reunited again as the top seeds in this WTA 250 grass court tournament.

Hsieh and Zhang faced inconsistent performances against their opponents that day, with both sides getting broken twice. However, Hsieh and Zhang held their nerve at 5-4 to secure a crucial break and took the first set 6-4. In the second set, they broke again in the next game after leading 4-3, ultimately winning 6-3.

Continuing to prepare for Wimbledon, Hsieh Su-wei and Zhang Shuai have performed well in the Nottingham grass court tournament, winning their last two matches in straight sets. They are expected to face the fourth seeds, Japan's Ena Shibahara and Kazakhstan's Anna Danilina, on the evening of the 21st for a spot in the women's doubles final.
